Delicious Doodles in Green and Blue

This month's topic is "Favourite colour" - well I just love greens and blues so for this post I've created a card with one of the lovely Delicious Doodles images.
.
To make the card shape:

Open a C6 card and fold both right hand side corners into the centre.  Open out and you should have a small triangle on the right centre section  - score from the point of the triangle the outside edge of the card and fold inwards.

You can now create a stand-up card which will fold flat for posting.

Iv'e coloured my "Delicious Doodle" with water-colour pencils and added a feather and embellisments to finish.
The card itself was coloured using paint spread onto a tile.
I then stamped into the paint with stamps and other bits and pieces then I places cardstock on top. This gave me a swirly coloured pattern which I then stuck onto the card.

I look forward to seeing some of your lovely creations and please join in with the Challenge for your chance to win a lovely prize. Happy crafting.....

Birthday card for Dad

Hi there everyone! Ria here today.

This month's challenge, use Your Favorite Colour in your creations. So since March is the birthday month for my dearest Dad, I used my favorite blue colour for Dad's birthday card.

I used the digi image Vintage Chevy from Delicious Doodles. I find it just perfect for a man's card isn't it? I colored the Chevy with Promarkers then used random papers on the background. Behind the image, I also used two strips of vellum with some diagonal scored lines for some added texture. I just love the subtle touch of texture without being too much.

I then added my bithday sentiment and the word 'dad' from my sticker stash.

So there you go. There's still time to play along the challenge so I hope to see your creations too.

Blue Hues in a Can

I decided my favourite colour this month is blue, and used the fabulous Floral Watering Can from this month's sponsor Delicious Doodles for my base image. I recently fell in love with Letraset AquaMarkers, bought the entire set, and played with them some more for this card.

I started by printing two copies of the image onto 90gsm watercolour paper using my laser B&W printer. I added AquaMarkers to the crosshatched areas of the design (as these will be the darkest) and dragged the colour across the rest of the space with a waterbrush pen. I added extra layers of colour where needed by allowing the first layers to dry before painting on colour picked up from a palette (draw on a plastic sheet with the AquaMarker). That's how I built up the mottled watercolour effect on the can and the shadow.

For added depth (not easily seen on the pic) I coloured in the second copy and cut out selected items, edged them in black and layered them decoupage stye onto the flowers. Try to choose things that aren't overlapped by anything else and you'll get the foreground elements perfectly.

Pens used:
   Can - Pebble Grey
   Flowers - Deep Sapphire/Storm Blue/Vintage Blue/Mediterranean
   Background - Pebble Grey/Frost Blue

Mounted on black card over Bazzil on 14x14cm 'linen' style card. The metallic strip at the bottom is by Letraset and helps ground the image.

Let me know if you'd like a more in-depth/video tutorial on using AquaMarkers. I think they're fab!

Challenge 2 - Day 17

Hello Everyone! Claire H here with my take on the Challenge theme 'Favourite Colour'! Our lovely sponsor this month is Delicious Doodles, and my image is called 'Watering Can'.

I have been rather broad in my take on Favourite Colour, as I love all the vintagey colours that you get, so that's what I used. I have created a tag, which I can either use to attach to a gift or on the front of a card, I haven't quite decided yet!

You can find out more on my blog, which can be found here!

Thank you for stopping by, and don't forget to enter the challenge!

Love and light

Challenge No.2 - Favourite Colours

Hi All!

Claire here today with another DT card for you.  So the challenge for March is favourite colour and our fab sponsor this month is Delicious Doodles!!

So I could not settle on one favourite colour so I have cheated a little bit and used two - purple and yellow - I just think they always look lovely together, especially when used with flowers.

So here is the card I've made for this month's challenge:

I printed the watering can, from Delicious Doodles and coloured it using distress markers in scattered straw, mustard seed, spiced marmalade, dusty concord, pumice stone, peeled paint, forest moss and worn lipstick.  I coloured around the watering can using tumbled glass distress ink.  I then cut a square of white card, rounded the corners, cut the diamond shape using an Xcut die and embossed the card using a dots embossing folder.  I layered the watering can image onto a 6x6 kraft card blank then topped it off with the embossed panel mounted with foam pads.

I really hope you can join in with our challenge this month!

Thanks for stopping by today, Claire x

Challenge 2 - Favourite Colours - by Amanda

Hi everyone, Amanda here with my March project.  Today is my birthday, so I really ought to have made something with cake on it, or at least a balloon, but when I took a look at the Delicious Doodles site, I fell in love with the vintage chevy.  Not only did it give me a great opportunity to use some grungy Tim Holtz travel related papers that I bought a little while ago, but even better, it gave me an excuse to buy some more goodies!

Picking my favourite colour for this challenge was a bit tricky, as I can honestly say that there aren't any colours I don't love to craft with sometimes.  Purple is my favourite for lots things, but I thought our lovely Nikki probably had that one covered, so I thought I would do a project in one of my favourite colour combinations instead - blue and brown.  It's perhaps not an obvious combination, but then the earth and the sky do go quite well together!

Well, here's my project.  I hope you like it and I would love to know what you think - it's quite a departure from my normal style!  For more info about how I made it and what I used, please see my blog post here.

My Favourite Colour!

Good Morning all!

I hope you are going to enjoy playing along with the Challenge this month.

My favourite colour is BLUE. I just love it and have to really restrain myself from decorating my whole house blue. My hall, bedroom and bathroom are all currently shades of this super-duper luscious colour!

Now for my card I have used Butterfly Bliss by Delicious Doodles (our sponsor this month) and this is my card:

It is mainly shades of blue with some black & white and just a touch of lemon. The blues are quite a bit more vibrant IRL, have to work on my camera skills I think and also take pictures when I'm not half asleep.

For more details on how I created my card please visit my blog here.

Now, if you haven't joined in already, we need you to added a card in your favourite colour. Remember you have a chance to win 4 digi stamps from our lovely sponsor Delicious Doodles :o)

Love n kisses

Day 9 of Challenge #2 at The Crafting Cafe

The theme for our March challenge at The Crafting Cafe is "Favorite Color".

Our sponsor for this challenge is Delicious Doodles and the winner will win 4 digis from the very talented Teri!

You wouldn't think this is difficult but for me, I seem to have a few fave colors and deciding which one to pick drove me nuts!  Of course I picked PINK!

I created this tag in craft class I took at our local shop, Creative Accents.  We played with different techniques and different sprays and thought this one would work perfect with Steampunk Fairy by Delicious Doodles.

I colored her up with my Copic markers and added a bit of glitter with my Spica markers.  Then I went hunting in my craft stash and threw a bit of everything together, voila!  I'm quite surprised at myself as this style is completely out of my comfort zone, I hope you like it!

Marleen DT

Helloooo everyone...

Its my turn to share my post for this month Challenge.

Dont forget, we also have a Facebook  group where we have loads of fun and all share our crafting projects.
Do come and join us..

The theme for this month is:
"Favorite Colour"

I have many favorite colours, so when I sat down to make this card, I just let it flow. Let the markers take me where they wanted, if that makes sense lol..

And here is what I have made for this month Challenge:
Image is from our sponcer:

Im personally a huge fan of Delicious Doodles Design, but this is my first ever to play with.. sitting down to colour this image was a bit scary, cause its so beautiful and I didnt wanted to ruin it. But I stuck to the blonde hair, in which I have the most practice. I like the way it turned out.
I keep the rest of the card simple, as usual, to show of the beautiful image.

If you want to see more of my work, do come and join me over on my own blog as well.
marleens-crafty-space

And that is it from me for this time.
Thank you for stopping by, and for any comments left behind.

I have then just decorated with lace, charms and a little bit of chain.
