February Challenge - embossing

Thank you for coming to play along with our challenge last month - you are all so inspirational and have such wonderful blogs and creations for us to look at.
All the Design Team love to look at your craftyness that you share with us - thank you for sharing your creativity.

This month the theme for our challenge is embossing.... Now this can be dry embossing or heat embossing.... in fact any type of embossing that you like. But your project must have embossing on it.
Please read over our other challenge rules before you enter any projects.

Time Flies Encased Quotation

'Time Flies Encased Quotation' by Neil Burley

This 'bottle cap' is in fact more like a mini-flan case, 5cm in diameter and available from Woodware Crafts stockists. I've used WOW! Clear Gloss embossing powder in layers to encase the various bits 'n' bobs: bottom layer and butterflies are from Craftwork Cards Time Flies papers, the cog is from Tim Holtz Idea-ology line and the quote is printed ever so small; all are edged with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.

By using my low airspeed Heat-It tool, I was able to heat the powder directly from above rather than pour in previously melted powder - much the same as if you were building layers with clear resin. Don't try this if you have one of the fast airspeed heat tools as it will just blow the powder everywhere - you'll have to use pre-melted powder and pour it on instead. This allows the elements to be placed in turn in the individual layers. The molten powder has soaked into the paper turning it translucent. Just make sure each layer is completely cool before starting the next so that you are only melting the powder and not the whole piece.

The 'case' comes pre-pierced with two holes at the top so it can be used as a pendant - I chose to plug these with blue tack so I could fill with embossing powder. I hope this inspires you to use embossing powder for more than just lines!

Embossing - Sammy

Hi all,

I am here with my DT offering for this month's embossing challenge.

Rather than go with an embossed background, I decided to emboss some other elements on my card...

I do so adore the Stamping Bella stamp, and it made sense to me to emboss the hearts.
For more info on this card, please come visit my blog.

There's already a lot of gorgeous entries for this challenge, and I'm looking forward to seeing some more!

Have a fabulous day,

Sammy-x

February Challenge - Emboss It!

The February challenge here at the Crafting Cafe is Embossing. Our sponsor this month is WOW embossing powders. Please join in, you could win a fab prize.

Your can choose to do either wet or dry embossing

For my card I used the Cracked Glass technique. I stamped and coloured the butterfly with Distress Pens Then I covered the mountboard with Perfect Medium before applying WOW! Embossing Ultra High Clear Powder. I repeated this three times to get a thick coverage. Then I let it cool before bending the whole piece to give a cracked look. Finally I applied a dark brown ink with Cut N Dry Foam to highlight the cracks. For more on this project you can visit my blog

Embossing Challenge - Mags

Hi Everyone
Mags here to share a little inspiration for our current challenge - Embossing.  Our sponsor for this month's challenge is WOW embossing powders who are offering a great prize to the winner.

I went for a resist technique using embossing powders and a stamp set from Imagination Crafts.  The effect is achieved by stamping the image and embossing with white embossing powder.  The image and background was then coloured with distress inks.  The embossing repels the distress ink leaving a lovely crisp image.

For more details of how I created my card just pop by my blog which can be found here.

Hope this has inspired you to have a go.  You still have until the end of the month to enter our challenge.

Bye for now
Mags

February Challenge - Embossing (wet or dry) - Samantha K

Hey Everyone :) I hope you are all OK?

Its that time of the month, where I can hopefully offer up a little bit of inspiration for our February Challenge. Our excellent sponsors this month, are WOW Embossing powders

This month we got to use our own images, yay, so I used Abi Ballerina from all dressed up, as I had already coloured her a little while back, when testing out my new Christmas goodies :)

I used dry embossing for my card, on both the ribbon banner and the flower - If you would like to find more details on my card or for more piccies, please pop over to my blog.

I hope you will be inspired to enter our Embossing Challenge and don't forget to check back later in the month for more DT inspiration

Happy Crafting,
Hugs

Embossing - Amanda

It's halfway through February already (!) and our sponsor this month is Wow! Embossing Powders.  Heat embossing has been one of my favourite crafting techniques since I first saw it demonstrated as a very new crafter.  I love to experiment with embossing powders and the projects I'm sharing this time show two ways you can have fun with them.   For more information, please visit my blog, here.

Hello everyone, my name is Denise Fletcher and I live in beautiful

Louise

Hi all

For this month's challenge, I've chosen dry embossing. I've used Docrafts Twelve Days of Christmas embossing folder and dies from the same range but made a Valentines card instead. (It's nice to have stuff with more than one use, don't you think)

Hope you like it
