Perfect in Pastels...

Perfect in Pastels by Neil Burley
I chose the fantastic 'Bundles of Hearts' digistamp from , our sponsors this month for the 'Let's Celebrate' theme.

I had a go at being a bit different, and decided to try and make the equivalent of an embossing folder to build up the image into an embossed one - it worked to a degree, but no where near good enough to run with, and then I ran out of time.

So I got out the PanPastels to colour in Benson Bear, adding shading and filling in the small areas with Derwent soft pastel pencils. I blended those in with a paper stump, which was also quite handy for moving the pastel off the laser-printed black areas. Any pastels running over edges were gently rubbed back with an eraser. I used a spray fixative to seal everything before assembling the card. The sentiment is a peel off, and the coloured card from Bazzill. I love the texture that the pastels give to the fur :)

And once I've mastered the art of converting a digistamp to an embossed image, I'll let you know!

April challenge - Let's Celebrate

Hello everyone! It's Ria here today.

This month's challenge theme, Let's Celebrate can come in any form, birthdays, anniversaries, graduation or a celebration of life itself.

In my card today, I used a digi image from the Crafty Sentiments Designs, isn't she adorable :)
I love her sweet, innocent smile, just like my sweet little girl KC.

I consider this card as a celebration of life, just fit fit the sentiment I also used here "You're my sunshine'. I colored her with Promarkers and added some buttons for additional texture.

There's still time to play along in this month's challenge so go ahead and create something to celebrate.

Have a great day!

Hoppy Baaday!

When I started making my April project, the sun was shining, and a warm breeze was making the first daffodils in my garden nod their pretty heads.  Full of the joys of spring, I made a card to celebrate the passing of winter.  As I shiver indoors with the rain lashing against my window, I think I may have been a bit premature!  Perhaps if I stare at my card long enough, I'll feel warm again?!

Well, here's my card, I hope you like it.  This month's challenge is sponsored by Crafty Sentiments Designs, and I chose their gorgeous Toby In Pot digital stamp for my project, as I loved the fresh spring feel of it.  For details of the other products I used, and some handy tips, please see my blog, here.

Hoppy crafting everyone!

Celebration Challenge #3 - Day 9

Day 9 is here and Michelle is ready to cheer "It's time to Celebrate at The Crafting Cafe".  There are so many reasons to celebrate and we want to see yours!

Our sponsor for this challenge is Crafty Sentiments Designs.

This sweet little digi is Lilly.  I had fun coloring her with my Copic markers to match the bright papers from the Surprise! Collection by Bo Bunny. I added some glossy accents to the flowers for some dimension, strung up some red and yellow ribbon and for some fun, pom poms.

The sentiment, both outside and inside is from Paper Smooches.

Now it's your turn to link up your "Let's Celebrate" creation!
