Hi Everyone, I'm am thrilled to be on the Crafting Cafe Design Team. My name is Marlene, i live in Inverness, Scotland with my Husband David. I have one Daughter and 3 Grandchildren. I am a retired Nurse through an industrial Injury. I am originally from Newcastle upon Tyne. We came to Scotland 241/2 years ago for my Husbands job. I started making cards when he became seriously ill in 2010, I started to make cards in 2011 this helped to cope with the situation and I have become addicted to making them. I am so happy to be able to share them with you all.
Hi, I'm Amanda from Bedfordshire: wife to my college sweetheart Adam, Mummy to my toddler Bob, and tummy rubber to my little collie-sheltie cross Molly. I love the thrill of creating things, and particularly love papercrafting, cake decorating, jewellery making and cooking. I demo'd for do crafts for a few years, both in store and on Create and Craft, and have written for the do crafts magazine 'Creativity!'. I'm taking a break from demos while my little boy is young, as I can't imagine leaving him for a whole day! I love to learn new crafts, and top of my list to try are knitting, encaustic art, sewing and pottery. Like my non-crafty passions of walking, vintage aeroplanes, and geocaching, those plans are taking a bit of a back seat to becoming an expert on Bob the Builder and Thomas the Tank Engine though!
I’ve been crafting for over 12 years - happily my wife also crafts, but this does have the side effect of doubling the costs! I found fitting crafting round a 'proper' job a little restrictive, so I took an opportunity to change careers and enrolled to study an Extended Diploma in Art & Design at Leicester College in September 2011. Over the years, I’ve enjoyed developing skills in stamping, paper craft, scrapbooking, metal art, quilting, beading, making books and using ProMarkers. I now like all of them so much I combine them in mixed media designs and altered art projects. Ii am on the design team for Creative Expressions (2013/4) and WOW! Embossing Powders (2012/4). I use my blog to document all my creative endeavours, so feel free to pop over and browse, and perhaps leave a comment or two. I moved into my purpose built studio at the beginning of April 2013 and now work full time as a crafter/tutor.
Hi, Mags here. I live in the UK with my lovely hubby, two daughters and three cats. When not at work (boo hoo) you can normally find me in my crafty room. I have always enjoyed creating and have done most things crafty - knitting, cross stitch, crotchet. I was introduced to cardmaking about 4 years ago by my Mum and I guess you could say I am now addicted. I am really into stamping at the moment but love trying different things. Now I am just waiting for that big lottery win so I can give up work and spend more time crafting :)
Hi. I think that I've been crafting forever. I'm passionate about card making and anything papercraft and inky and love making altered art projects. I'm a freelance demonstrator and most weekends you can find me demonstrating at different stores for Docrafts, a job which I love. I am a qualified Learning Support Worker, but at the moment, I am a stay at home mum, looking after my 3 boys and my hubby, which is a job in itself. I am so thrilled to be part of The Crafting Cafe DT and am looking forward to sharing my creations with you.
Hi. I am so pleased to be joining The Crafting Cafe Design Team! I've been making cards for a few years and love the opportunity to get creative – it’s so far removed from my day job that it’s great to get my craft supplies out and play whenever I get the chance! I'm terrible with self discipline and “need” most crafty bits I see. My pro-markers are my favourite tools at the moment – I think I could happily lose days just colouring. I used to design cards for a magazine a few years ago and have only started my blog this year, as a way to share ideas. Outside craft, I love travelling and have a never ending list of places I want to go and see.
My name's Sammy and I live in Leeds in the UK with my husband and two children.I started card making last summer when I bought a Docrafts goodie bag on a whim for the kids to make fathers day cards with. Then, as there was so much in the bag and hubby’s birthday only a couple of days later we made birthday cards too! I enjoyed it so much, I soon started getting more and more bits to play with. Well, you can all relate to the slippery slope that becomes! I started my blog in July this year, and not long after I took the plunge to start stamping and colouring images, rather than use pre-made toppers. My addiction has now gone to a whole new level and with the recent addition of a die cutting machine, I don’t think life will ever be the same…My main obsessions are LOTV stamps and designer papers and I LOVE making boys cards, but will pretty much try anything twice! xxx
Hi, my name is Janet. I have been a crafter since I was a little girl when my mum taught me how to knit clothes for my dolls. I have tried most crafts but now spend most of my time card making, unfortunately I have to work to pay for my addiction to crafting. I love stamping and colouring most of all. It's been said I have more stock in my craft room than in many a shop, but I think they are exaggerating. I'm married to Ted and we live in the West Midlands.
