Mechanised Greetings Card

'Mechanised Greetings Card' by Neil Burley

For the 'Here Come the Boys' theme this month, I used the 'Chain + Cog Frame' from Delicious Doodles. I used MS Word to shrink the first copy to A6 size, the second slightly smaller, and the third slightly smaller still before laser printing onto thin card. I fussy-cut each of the centres out so they could be layered.

My background is a scanned copy of one of my GelliArt plate prints, shrunk to ATC size and laser printed. I colour matched Distress Markers to colour the frames and then layered them using foam pads to stick to an A6 white card. I added a couple of Tim Holtz Idea-ology cogs, sticking them down with matt multimedium.

For the sentiment, I covered an ATC with self-adhesive foil and then hand drew the greeting into it with a fine embossing tool. I cut out the shape and then added Black Soot Distress Paint all over, waited a moment or three for it to dry, and then wiped it off with a kitchen towel trying to keep the paint in the grooves. Attach to the card with layers of foam pads, and for dressing, attach chain with brads and matt multimedium.

I finished off by adding a smear of Vintage Photo Distress Ink round the frame. Hope you like!

Masculine card

Hello there! It's Ria here today.

I'm sharing a masculine card just fit for this month's theme "Here Comes the Boys" I used a digi image from Delicious Doodles called Vintage Norton.
The image is already perfect on its own so I did only minor coloring with Promarkers.

As this is intended for a guy recipient, I embossed the background with chevron and added minimal embellishments.

There's still time to play in this month's challenge so go grab you stash and make one card for the boys.

Have a great day!

June Challenge by Amanda

Hi everyone, Amanda here with my take on this month's challenge - Here Come the Boys.  Our sponsor for June is Delicious Doodles, and I've chosen their exquisitely detailed Vintage Spitfire image, as vintage planes are a bit of an obsession for me.  It's a great image if you're not that keen on colouring in, as all the shading's done for you.  I've added just a hint of colour to mine using my beloved watercolour pencils.

My project is a circular easel card inspired by the WWII RAF roundel.  I say 'inspired by' because I've taken liberties with the sizes of the circles - err, I did mention my aircraft obsession, didn't I? :-)  The base of my easel card is covered with a map of the area around Eastleigh, which is where the first Spitfires were built.  Hmm, perhaps I should have kept that bit of geeky obsessiveness to myself...

I hope you like it.  More details are on my blog, including close-ups of how the Spitfire is attached (it bounces around really nicely!).  Happy crafting!

Here come the Boys Challenge - Day 9

Hello everyone, it's Michelle here and ready for Day 9 of our Here Come the Boys monthly challenge at The Crafting Cafe!

I LOVE making masculine cards, I realize that seems to be out of the norm for most but I have more difficulty with frilly & feminine cards!

Our sponsor for this challenge is Delicious Doodles and the lucky winner will receive 4 images of their choice!

I chose to work with Vintage Norton Bike.  I decided not to color to the image myself, rather I formatted the image from black to brown.  The papers are from the Back to Backs collection by Bo Bunny, the tiles are from Tim Holtz and the rest of the embellies are from my stash.

Father's Day is almost here so get your mojo going and start creating!

Hi everyone..

Marleen here... :-)

Its my turn to show what I have made for this months challenge.
The fantastic image I have used is from this months sponcer

Here is what i have made:

I kept it simple. Personally I find mens cards work best when they are kept simple.

An amazing digi stamp from Delicious Doodles.

I used my new toy, a present from my hubby. The clock & hands die from Marianne Designs.

I used an embossing folder to create the back ground.

And that is it.
I hope you like what I made.

Castle in the Moonlight Card

Hi all
Christine here with my card for the June Challenge
I've used the lovely image A Scottish Castle from

I thought I would add a moon and stars plus only use a couple of colours as
the image is quite detailed but also very versatile.
You could really colour in the image or just leave it fairly plain as I have.
It would look lovely both ways.

I love these images.
Have a go at this month's challenge and see what you can come up with.
